The Sasso Simone

This is currently the Military Polygon, and then regulated by the rules of the Defense. The tourists then, is required to obtain authorization from the municipality of Sestino, to visit the area. Given the particular difficulties of paths, it is necessary that the tourist is a minimum and trained with some experience. We advise tourists to have suitable equipment, especially in case of rain, because the paths can be very inconvenient, especially clayey areas.

At the office you can request brochures and maps of hiking Reserve to better address your excursions. Inside is also an extensive video library and an archive of slides nature.

Getting there

From Arezzo to reach the village of Sestino and take the road for Presciano, which leads directly to the House of Refuge King, starting the main hiking trails. Alternatively you can access from Case Barboni, reached the turn in the direction SP52 Putrella Massana.
